Shan Junchao, a student at Xi`an University of Posts & Telecommunications, has only been studying sand painting for seven months. However, the young artist is already able to wow onlookers with his creative process.
In the video, Shan is creating a piece which pays tribute to the ancient Chinese civilization, which in part developed out of Xi’an in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. It also highlights Shaanxi’s ongoing role in promoting China’s exchanges with the outside world, including the “Belt and Road” initiative.
