Located between the Yangtze River and the Huai River, the east China's small town Mingguang is however always regarded by people as a 'city in the south' due to its relatively warm weather.
Winter sport was far from Mingguang people for a long time. However, as China is trying to fulfill its promise to engage 300 million people in winter sports, Mingguang Middle School has since 2019 offered an artificial ice hockey training course.
Local kids for the first time had a chance to play ice hockey. Now, the Mingguang Middle School has built ice hockey teams with different age groups.
